We focused on achieving heightened transparency, improving communication, and increasing efficiency, benefitting not just the employees involved in the process but also the customers.

In an era where people's anxieties about financial security and access to their money are at an all-time high, restoring trust in banking systems have become a crucial endeavor. As the lead for an ATM redesign project, I directed our focus towards addressing multiple pain points along the user experience to rebuild customer confidence. My role encompassed strategizing the project's direction, collaborating with diverse stakeholders, and guiding a cross-functional team towards developing accessible and reliable solutions. The culmination of our efforts was not just a 44% increase in NPS scores and industry awards, but also a restoration of customer trust in their financial institution.

Tackling urban transport and sustainability challenges, Ford’s 'City of Tomorrow' initiative reimagined future mobility. As a lead designer at an immersive design studio, I guided teams for over two years and multiple iterations, merging research with storytelling to breathe life into this visionary city. Our narrative-driven approach, engaging over 180K attendees at CES and 600+ industry leaders at a San Francisco conference, provided a platform to discuss sustainable urban development and helped pivot the industry narrative from traditional manufacturing to a holistic perspective on mobility.

In an era marked by advances in material innovation, body augmentation, and climate change, the sports industry confronts novel pressures. My transition from researcher to lead designer for a major sports manufacturer centered on bridging knowledge gaps and imagining new athlete futures through the lens of three main characters. Collaborating with a team of writers, researchers, designers, and creative technologists, we crafted a deeply researched, diverse world spanning six global cities. This led to the conceptualization of over sixty products and services, drawing inspiration from a number of domains. The project's focus on human-driven narratives not only visualized future scenarios but also played a pivotal role in informing executive strategies to navigate the evolving sports landscape.

Finding the right mental health and rehabilitation support is often complex and opaque. Recoverwell was established as a beacon of clarity and accessibility in this space. I guided the experience design for this mental health platform, creating interfaces that streamline the journey for patients, advocates, and rehabilitation facilities. Embarking on its mission with a strong foundation, Recoverwell is not just reshaping immediate access to care but also forecasting a significant market impact with $2M in revenue within the first three years.
Building digital bridges for art's past and future.

A catalogue raisonné is the definitive and annotated compilation of all the known works of an artist. They are traditionally comprehensive, yet static and expensive to produce, and face the inherent problem of remaining current in a dynamic art world. Addressing this issue, I led the research and design for Artifex Press, a startup conceived to innovate art archiving. We transformed the concept of catalogue raisonnés from printed volumes to a patented, interactive digital platform. This shift not only made the cataloging process more efficient and cost-effective but also ensured that the archives remained accurate and up-to-date. Launching initially with three catalogs, the platform has expanded today to over twenty.
Harnessing data to craft tools for citizens and scientists.
Non-Profit / Coalition for Clean Air
The need to monitor air quality has become increasingly vital for local communities. To address this, I led a design sprint with a team of data scientists for the Coalition for Clean Air, a public interest organization, focusing on making air quality data both accessible and actionable. We developed tools capable of analyzing data from over 30,000 independent air sensors, aimed at empowering citizens and scientists alike. This multi-day sprint culminated in a prototype that facilitated real-time and historical air quality analysis, paving the way for additional funding and development.

In a future where autonomous vehicle taxis roam the streets, understanding the intricate dynamics of human-machine interaction is crucial. In partnership with GM’s Research and Development Lab, we delved into this challenge by prototyping communication systems, safety protocols, and innovative rider experiences in VR. Aimed at blending technology with empathy, our process sought to enrich the AV rider's robotaxi experience significantly. Our strategic deployment of VR served to underscore its utility as a prototyping tool for executives, unveiling potential business opportunities and exploring previously untapped experiences for both passengers and pedestrians with its immersive capabilities. This exploration not only highlighted the project's innovative edge but also emphasized its strategic value in identifying new market opportunities.
Reimagining higher education for design leaders.

During a period marked by significant challenges for higher education, a prestigious design college sought to redefine its strategic direction and future vision. In collaboration with the college's Chair's Council and top leadership, including the president and provost, I played a key role in co-facilitating multiple visioning workshops. These sessions were designed to harness expert insights, provoke thought, and employ storytelling techniques to broaden perspectives on potential futures. his collaborative effort culminated in a detailed summary reports, intended for review by the college's Board and integration into its five-year strategic plan.
Personalizing performance with AI.

Acknowledging the growing demand for more durable performance footwear, I led the human-centered design aspects of an AI-driven skate shoe prototype. Our objective was to utilize advanced knitting technology and image capture to create shoes that not only cater to individual skating styles, but in doing so, also offered enhanced longevity. Despite the project's pause due to COVID-19, it showcased the potential to revolutionize skate footwear by blending technology with personal creativity.
